Shah Rukh Khan has given fans a new reason to mark Christmas Eve: the official poster for King is here, and it positions him as a romantic walking through danger rather than a cold-blooded action hero. The Siddharth Anand-directed film is confirmed to arrive in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
The image shows SRK striding through fire with a rose between his teeth and a gun in his hand. His caption reframes the violence with an old-school line: “Aaj phir yaad aaya… Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon… #KING In cinemas 24.12.26.” It is a direct call-back to the romantic-vs-killer image he played with in the title track of the 1999 film Baadshah.
Why King is already a talking point
The project is big for several reasons. It marks SRK’s second collaboration with Siddharth Anand after Pathaan (2023). It is also his first film alongside daughter Suhana Khan, who made her acting debut with The Archies in 2023.

A campaign built on contrast
The title was revealed in a first glimpse that showed SRK in a silver-haired, intense action avatar. The new poster sharpens the same promise: he can carry danger and devotion at the same time. For a holiday release, that contrast gives the film a wide opening—fans of SRK’s romantic era and his recent action streak both get something to discuss.
The trailer wait, explained
Fans have been asking about the trailer, and SRK addressed it during a recent AskSRK session. He said he is not deliberately holding anything back; the team is trying to make something that does justice to the film. He asked for patience and indicated that everything, including the trailer, will land before December 24.
