National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee is reportedly set to headline a gripping political thriller titled Governor, backed by filmmaker-producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film, described as an intense yet commercially engaging theatrical drama, will see Bajpayee portray the titular role of a powerful governor caught in a web of politics, power, and moral dilemmas.
Vipul Shah, best known for directing hits like Aankhen (2002), Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005), and Namastey London (2007), will serve as producer, while direction has been handed over to Chinmay Mandlekar. Chinmay recently directed Bajpayee in Netflix India’s upcoming cop drama Inspector Zende.
Originally, Governor was to be helmed by Apoorv Singh Karki—who previously collaborated with Bajpayee on the acclaimed legal drama Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai (2023).
