Fauzi Glimpse Out: Prabhas’ WWII Drama Releases March 19, 2027

Mumbai: On his 47th birthday, Prabhas and the team behind Fauzi dropped a new glimpse that leans hard into history. The period action drama, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, now has a fresh opening date: March 19, 2027.

A glimpse built around Bose and Hitler

The video, titled File No. 25, opens during World War II with Subhas Chandra Bose meeting Adolf Hitler. Bose asks for help in the fight against British imperial rule; Hitler declines an alliance. That historical frame sets up Prabhas as an intelligence operative who works with Bose and builds a code that, as the glimpse puts it, surpasses the German Enigma code.

When Hitler asks for the operative’s name, Bose says he has none. He is known simply as “Fauji.” The pronunciation then becomes “Fauzi” in German or Austrian, setting up the star’s introduction. It is a deliberate reveal, designed to make the name itself feel like a calling card.

What the look does for Prabhas

The glimpse gives Prabhas a commanding, rebellious presence. There is no extended action sequence in the teaser, but the framing does the work: the star appears as a soldier embedded in the Azad Hind Fauj, with a resistance story that connects Bose, intelligence work, and a code that outperforms Enigma. It is a less familiar historical lane for a Telugu star, and that unfamiliarity is part of the pull.

Imanvi stars as the female lead. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada play key roles, which gives the film an ensemble texture beyond its central figure.

Why the timing matters

The birthday drop gives the film a beat of positive energy after Prabhas’ last release, The Raja Saab, drew a mixed response and an underwhelming box office run. Fauzi is also wider in ambition: a period setting, an Azad Hind Fauj backdrop, and a cast designed to carry scale.

The release date has shifted, too. Originally set for December 3, 2026, Fauzi was postponed and will now arrive on March 19, 2027. For early 2027, that positions the film as one of the more visible Prabhas titles in the first quarter, ahead of Spirit on October 23, 2027.

Prabhas’ next run, at a glance

  • Spirit: directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, with Triptii Dimri; Vivek Oberoi is reported to play the primary antagonist. It has been moved to October 23, 2027.
  • Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam: the next chapter in the Salaar universe.
  • Kalki 2898 AD Part 2: the continuation of the sci-fi epic.

The Fauzi glimpse keeps its cards close on dialogue, but it gives the character a clear silhouette: a rebel with a code, a uniform, and a longer road to the big screen. That is the story as the date settles on March 19, 2027.
