Varun Dhawan Celebrates Navratri With a Traditional Kanya Pujan

Varun Dhawan’s Navratri post this year is less about styling and more about ritual. The actor shared a picture from a Kanya Pujan ceremony, sitting cross-legged in a maroon T-shirt with a group of young girls around him, a handmade “Happy Navratri” sign in his hands. Around them: art supplies, drawings and the kind of low-key festive setting that feels personal rather than produced.

“Heartfelt wishes to you all for Navratri,” he wrote in Hindi, keeping the caption simple.

The ritual behind the picture

For Dhawan, the moment carries an extra layer. He and wife Natasha Dalal are parents to daughter Lara, which makes a ritual centred on honouring young girls feel particularly close to home.

Kanya Pujan is observed during Navratri, most commonly on Ashtami and Navami. Families invite young girls, wash their feet, serve them food and offer gifts, treating them as forms of Goddess Durga. The custom typically involves nine girls, but the core idea is the same: respect, care and blessings for the girls in the community.

That context turns a simple photo into a small statement. The post is not a costume drop or a party appearance; it is a family tradition being shared with fans.

A packed year behind and ahead

The Navratri pause comes in the middle of a busy stretch for Dhawan. His 2026 already includes two releases:

  • Border 2 in January 2026, with Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty and others.
  • Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai in June 2026, directed by David Dhawan and co-starring Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur.

Reports also place him in talks for Yash Raj Films’ first horror feature, to be directed by Abhay Pannu. A source close to the project told Hindustan Times, “Varun has come on board as the lead for YRF’s first horror film.” If finalised, it would be his first project with the studio since 2018’s Sui Dhaaga.

The nutrition bet with a personal hook

Beyond films, Dhawan recently stepped into the nutrition space with Better Nutrition, a brand that works on making everyday food more nutritious and has featured on Shark Tank India Season 4. He has joined as brand ambassador alongside badminton star PV Sindhu.

The tie-up has an unusual backstory: the actor has acquired agricultural land and is working with the company to turn his farm into a biofortified one. That makes the partnership feel more like a personal project than a standard endorsement, and it gives the brand a story that goes beyond a celebrity face.

For our readers, the takeaway is the same whether you follow celebrity or business: the most credible brand moments are the ones anchored in something the person already does. A festival post that reflects family values, or a nutrition deal that connects to a farm, lands differently from a one-off sponsored caption.
