Tiger Shroff’s drive home from a Juhu football match turned into a police case when, police say, three bike-borne gunmen opened fire at his car. The actor escaped with minor abrasions, while his driver and an autorickshaw driver passing by were injured and taken for medical care, according to sources at Nanavati Hospital.
Karan Veer Mehra was right behind
Television actor Karan Veer Mehra played in the same football match and was driving directly behind Tiger Shroff as the group left the venue. He told NDTV that the first clear sign of trouble was blood on the road.
“My car was right behind… I just saw blood spots, and I got to know that Tiger’s driver had been shot,” he said. “There were kids right there, celebrating a birthday party; everybody ran helter-skelter.”
Mehra said he has known Shroff for a long time and described him as respectful and focused on his work. He added that he knows the family well and found it traumatising to watch them go through the ordeal.
Fireworks masked the first shots
A celebration with fireworks was already underway near the scene, so Mehra and others initially thought the noise was part of the festivities. Fans standing outside began shouting once the gunshots were heard, and people who had been taking photos scattered. Security personnel were alerted and police were called, but by then Tiger Shroff and his driver had already left the area.
What investigators are looking at
- Police say at least five rounds were fired at the car, and a forensic team is examining ballistic evidence at the scene.
- CCTV footage from surrounding locations is being checked to identify the assailants.
- One person was detained in Santacruz in connection with the case.
Two men, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, claimed the attack on social media on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police have not verified those claims, so the motive remains part of the investigation. The All India Cine Workers Association condemned the shooting, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Tiger Shroff’s residence to promise action.
The witness account fills the gap
Mehra’s version matters because it places the shooting in the middle of an ordinary evening: a match, cars leaving one by one, fireworks, families. It also explains why the first reaction was confusion rather than immediate alarm. For readers following the case, his account confirms that the gunfire was heard by multiple people around the venue and that help was called quickly, even though the car had left before the police arrived.
Why this matters for celebrity-watchers
This was not a private moment or an on-set incident; it happened on a public road in Juhu, one of Mumbai’s most celebrity-heavy neighbourhoods. Fans, families and a birthday party were nearby, which made the panic and confusion worse. For followers, the main update is that Tiger Shroff is safe, his driver is injured, and the inquiry is moving. The next pieces to watch are whether CCTV and forensic evidence back up the social media claims, and whether more detentions follow.
