Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff had a narrow escape on Sunday evening after three bike-borne men opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Shroff avoided serious harm, though Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde later said the actor had minor injuries to his left hand from gunpowder and glass shards. His driver Firdous and an autorickshaw driver were shot and are stable.
What we know so far
Mumbai Police has registered an FIR under attempt-to-murder and arms-act provisions and formed 15 teams to find the attackers. The motorcycle used in the firing has been recovered. Shortly afterwards, two men police described as alleged operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang—Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu—claimed responsibility. So far, police have named no arrested person.

Political and industry reaction
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said he had spoken to Shroff and taken serious cognisance of the matter, promising that the assailants would be found. Shinde, who met the actor, went further: bullets would be answered with bullets, he said, and gang-style intimidation would not return to Mumbai. Shinde recalled that Mumbai Police had ended the gang wars of the 1990s, and promised to stop this hooliganism again.
Film industry union FWICE condemned the firing and called it the second high-profile attack on a film personality after the earlier Rohit Shetty incident. The body demanded immediate protection for Shroff and his family. Actor Karan Veer Mehra, whose car was just behind Shroff’s, told NDTV that he saw blood spots outside and children at a nearby birthday party running for cover.
Why this matters for fans
What fans see most clearly is the response: security outside Shroff’s home, Disha Patani arriving to check on him, and the police presence in Juhu. Behind that is a larger worry. When two alleged members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang can claim an attack on a star within hours, celebrity safety becomes a public-crowd question, not just a private security one. NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique extended that worry, saying he had received four threats in two months without extra security, while Supriya Sule said crime in Maharashtra is rising and the home minister must answer.
For now, the story is still moving: police have recorded the driver’s statement, security has been beefed up at the site, and Ranvir Shorey’s social-media call for no mercy captures the mood of an industry that wants this treated as a line-crossing, not a one-off.
