Salman Khan Says No Biopic Will Ever Be Made on Him

Salman Khan has settled one of Bollywood’s favourite hypotheticals. On the first episode of Koffee With Karan season 9, the actor stepped into a rapid-fire round with Karisma Kapoor and was asked which filmmaker should direct a biopic on his life. He played along for a moment, then ruled the idea out entirely.

The directors he would pick

Salman was given four options: Sooraj Barjatya, Kabir Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and David Dhawan. His answer matched each name to a different version of his story.

  • David Dhawan for a comedy
  • Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a traditional tragic love story
  • Sooraj Barjatya for one beautiful love story after another
  • Kabir Khan for an action-packed love story

Then Salman delivered the final word. “But, a biopic of my life will never be made,” he said, adding that his life will go to his grave. The quote turned what could have been a fun fan-casting moment into a clear boundary.

A pattern of keeping life private

The refusal fits the way Salman talks about his personal world. Host Karan Johar asked him about his old “still a virgin” remark, and Salman said the line was never meant literally. It was his way of saying he does not want to discuss his dating life or relationships.

He explained that people around him kept linking him to partners he was not sure would remain in his life, and that he has felt this way since he was 15 or 16. His father, Salim Khan, gave him a simple house rule: bedroom talk stays in the bedroom, not the living room. That long-running caution is why the biopic line landed with weight: Salman can be playful on a couch show, but the private-to-grave boundary stays consistent.

What it means for fans

For celebrity-watchers, this is less a snub than a marker of how Salman manages fame. He may give red-carpet moments, reality-show hosting gigs and rapid-fire answers, but the biographical version of his life stays off-limits. In an era where every chat-show clip is shared within minutes, drawing that line so plainly is rare.

The difference matters for paparazzi pages and fan clubs. Salman is not saying he will stop giving audiences moments; he is saying those moments will not be repackaged into a life story he never authorised. That is useful context when biopic rumours surface every few years.

He also pushed back on the idea that anything outside his control stopped him from finding a partner. Salman said he will have children at some point and that he cannot blame anyone else for how his relationships have played out.

What is next

Salman continues to move between television and film. He is currently hosting Bigg Boss 20 and has two titles in the pipeline: the war drama Maatrubhumi alongside Chitrangada Singh, and the action thriller Monster.
