Kriti Sanon’s next big-screen move could be her scariest yet. Industry sources quoted in a new report say the actor has locked a project with Maddock Films that is being designed as the production house’s first “out-and-out horror” film, not another entry in its popular horror-comedy universe.
There is no poster, title or official announcement yet, but the report has already started a conversation about the scale of the film and what it means for one of Bollywood’s most watched stars.

The report claims Kriti will headline the project as a solo lead. That would make it her second solo lead for Maddock after Mimi, the 2021 film for which she won a National Award. The makers are reportedly planning to mount the film on a grand scale, though the story, director, supporting cast and release date remain under wraps.
“After receiving praise for her performances in Cocktail 2 and Tere Ishk Mein, Kriti Sanon has finally locked her next project,” the report quotes an industry source as saying, adding that she is “stepping into the world of pure horror.”
Why this is a different Maddock project
Maddock’s recent horror success has leaned on comedy. The report points to titles such as Stree and Bhediya as examples of that horror-comedy lane. A full horror film would be a new space for the production house, the source explains, and the scale being discussed makes it a bigger swing than a small genre experiment.
The report describes Maddock as being “on a winning streak,” and the move into pure horror suggests the banner wants to extend that run without repeating the same formula.
