Salman Khan Repeats Paparazzi Warning After 90% Remark

At the IIFA 2027 press meet in Mumbai, Salman Khan repeated a warning he first delivered on Bigg Boss: paparazzi need to leave invasive angles out of the frame. Posing with Kareena Kapoor Khan, he kept it short and direct: “Peeche ka yaad rakh lena, itni izzat to de hi sakte ho sab log.” The loose translation: remember what I said about those pictures; you can give people that much respect.

Why the reminder matters

This was not a fresh outburst. In September, on Bigg Boss 20, Salman called out photographers who take behind-the-scenes style shots without consent. He said 90% of the women he knows — and those who are now mothers — never wanted those images, then or now.

That figure matters because it moves the conversation from one star’s annoyance to a shared experience across women in the industry. At a red carpet or airport appearance, stars expect to be photographed. But the presence of a camera crew does not make every angle fair game. Salman’s line is about consent at public events, and he is repeating it because the behaviour has not fully stopped.

Where the line falls

Public photo calls work on trust. When photographers push into low or rear angles, the event starts to feel unsafe for the person in front of the lens. The fix is not complicated.

  • Shoot from approved positions, not from behind or below.
  • Stop when a guest steps back, turns away or asks you to stop.
  • Treat every frame as if the person’s family might see it.
  • Skip the shot when you are not sure it is welcome.

That last point echoes the challenge Salman issued previously: ask whether you would want the same frame taken of your mother or sister before you release it.

IIFA heads to Abu Dhabi

The press conference set up the 27th edition of the IIFA Weekend & Awards, scheduled for Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on January 22 and 23, 2027. Varun Dhawan and Ananya Panday are set to host, with Karan Johar and Manish Paul joining them. Performers expected include Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.

For the audience that follows every arrival, the larger point is simple: a photo call works only when the people being photographed feel safe enough to show up. The warning is not about avoiding cameras; it is about keeping the coverage respectful — from the first flash to the final edit.
