R Madhavan is returning to television as the face of Game Changers, a business reality show that will be produced in Dubai for the Middle East market. Optimystix Entertainment India Limited announced the project on Monday and expects production to begin shortly.

What the format promises

Startup founders from across the world will present their ventures to an international investor panel. Investors will come from Dubai, London, Russia and the United States, making the pitch room a genuinely global one.

Optimystix founder and chairman Vipul D Shah called the show “a future-facing global entertainment franchise” rather than a one-off title. Co-founder and CEO Rajesh Bahl added that the format “goes beyond a conventional pitch show” and will put ambition, resilience, strategy and personal conviction on display.

  • Made in Dubai for the Middle East audience
  • Investors from Dubai, London, Russia and the US
  • Built as an owned IP with global and brand ambitions

Madhavan’s hosting history

Madhavan is a natural fit for the host’s chair, and not just because of his film career. He hosted the Hindi game show Tol Mol Ke Bol in 1997, one of his earliest hosting jobs. In November 2005 he fronted Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian version of Deal or No Deal, and in 2010 he returned with Imagine TV’s Big Money.

That track record matters here. Game Changers is being positioned as an entertainment product, not just a business competition, and a known presenter helps make high-stakes deal-making feel accessible.

Why it is built as an owned format

Shah’s framing points to a bigger plan. He described Game Changers as an owned IP with the potential to travel across markets, attract marquee brand partnerships and create multiple monetisation streams over time. In other words, Optimystix is not renting a format; it is building an asset.

For our readers, the announcement offers a new way to see Madhavan on screen. Instead of playing a character, he will guide founders through the kind of rooms where deals are made. A release date and further details have not been unveiled yet.

On the film front, Madhavan was last seen in the Tamil biographical drama G.D.N., based on the life of G.D. Naidu. Reports also suggest he may appear in R Balki’s upcoming untitled Tamil film alongside Vidya Balan, though that has not been officially confirmed.
