Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 8 has reached day 44, and the latest task is less about comfort and more about endurance. Host Mohanlal’s ship-themed Kappal Yathra challenge puts the Eviction-Free Card at the centre of the game. Housemates must collect gold, hold positions aboard the ship, and follow strict limits on eating, drinking water, and using the washroom.
Gautham Sasi became the task’s most visible performer by staying on the ship for 24 hours straight. Wikky Thug, meanwhile, convinced the sailors to let him join them. But the pressure also produced rule violations: Noby was accused of stealing gold from Kadal Komban, and Vedangi reportedly tried to take gold from Mridula. Tashi’s medical emergency after stepping off the ship for a washroom break added another layer of tension.
The task arrives at a critical point. With the show nearing its 50th day, contestants are juggling physical exhaustion and the need to stay visible to voters. Restricting food, water and washroom breaks turns the challenge into a genuine endurance test rather than a quick immunity quiz.

The episode was not only about the ship. After the Week 7 nominations, Rahul Easwar confronted Shijin and accused him of playing a “poverty card” to gain public sympathy. He also alleged that Shijin was using external PR support to orchestrate an online hate campaign.
Neha Fathima clarified her dispute with Vedangi, saying she was upset by repeated taunts about her height and weight rather than by losing a previous task.
