If you had Aadarsha Kutumbam House No. 47 – AK 47 on the calendar for October 2 or October 9, clear both dates. Venkatesh Daggubati confirmed on social media that the Telugu action drama will now open on October 30, 2026, coinciding with Dussehra. It is the third release date attached to the project, and this time the team is treating it as final.

Two decades later, a reunion gets a festive window

The announcement doubled as a reunion note. Venkatesh wrote that working with writer-director Trivikram Srinivas after two decades is “very special” and promised a “wholesome entertainer with fun, action and a lot more.” That combination is aimed straight at a family audience, which is exactly what a Dussehra opening needs.

The date changes tell a familiar production story. AK 47 was initially slated for October 2, then postponed to October 9, and subsequently pushed again due to pending post-production work. October 30 now places the release in the festive frame, giving the team a clear runway for final promotions.

What happens on screen

Venkatesh stars as Chittibabu, a husband who goes house-hunting with his wife. Her observations about the properties bring the comedy, while Chittibabu is positioned as the ideal family man before the drama and action kick in. The setup gives the film a relatable domestic core around which the larger action beats revolve.

Why the shift matters for fans

For audiences, the new date clears up weeks of uncertainty. A festive release also changes the theatre experience: morning and evening family shows are likely to be in demand, and advance bookings will build through the final stretch of October. The moving date was not about the star losing momentum; it was about giving the film enough post-production time to land cleanly.

Venkatesh enters this release with solid recent visibility. He was last seen in Sankranthiki Vasthunam, directed by Anil Ravipudi, and appeared in an extended cameo in the Chiranjeevi-starrer Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. After AK 47, he moves to January 12 Vidudala, also directed by Anil Ravipudi, with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram; that film is scheduled for January 12, 2027, with Keerthy Suresh and Krithi Shetty in the frame.

For now, the practical step is simple: keep October 30 free and watch official channels for showtime announcements. AK 47 finally has a date that lines up with the holiday calendar.
