Bollywood turned Durga Puja into a city-wide style watch as some of its most recognisable faces arrived at pandals in festive outfits. Kajol led the family charge in a pink and red saree, photographed first with her mother Tanuja and then with her sister Tanishaa Mukerji. The photographs come from celebrity photographer Yogen Shah and were shared by Mid-day.

Who stepped out

Karan Johar made it a family outing, posing with his twins in coordinated ethnic wear. He kept his own look easy in a pink kurta set while the children’s outfits matched the festive brief.

Rupali Ganguly greeted visitors with folded hands in a red traditional saree. Soha Ali Khan and Juhi Chawla attended together—Soha in a shimmering orange saree with traditional jhumkas and Juhi in vibrant pink.

Not everyone went traditional. Salman Khan was photographed in a dark shirt with blue jeans, sunglasses and black shoes. Aditi Rao Hydari chose a blue plaid shirt and wide-leg light blue jeans for an off-duty festive look.

The wider guest list from the pandal sightings:

  • Isha Malviya — deep purple saree with statement puff sleeves and border detail
  • Arti Singh — red traditional outfit with statement earrings
  • Daisy Shah — emerald green ethnic ensemble
  • Gurmeet Choudhary — family portrait in coordinated festive wear
  • Neelam Kothari — yellow ethnic suit, while Seema Sajdeh chose ivory

The style divide

The images split into two clear approaches. Most women leaned into traditional Indian wear—sarees, jhumkas and statement earrings in saturated reds, pinks, purples, greens and yellows. A smaller group kept things low-key, proving that a Durga Puja outing can look just as considered in relaxed separates.

The most repeatable cue is Karan Johar’s coordinated family set. The group photographs feel cohesive because the outfits echo one another in colour and mood without turning into exact copies. That works for family cards, festive lunches and pandal-hopping alike.

Why this matters

Durga Puja has become one of the biggest celebrity fashion moments on the Indian entertainment calendar. These are public pandal sightings—posed pictures, greetings and style choices—so they give readers a live, real-time view of what stars are wearing before the images fan out across social platforms.

For anyone dressing for the festival, the photographs are a practical checklist: choose one jewel tone, add one traditional accent, and let a group echo rather than match. The stars who kept to denim and plaid are also a reminder that not every festive appearance requires full traditional styling.
