Ajay Devgn’s team has responded to reports that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation partially demolished a Juhu property linked to the actor. The clarification draws one clear line: the house in question is not his home.
What the team actually said
In a statement, the actor’s side said the property is “not Ajay Devgn’s residence, but a separate property that has been rented out.” They added that they have applied to the BMC for the requisite permissions, are complying with all applicable rules, and have carried out the necessary changes, alterations and modifications the civic body required.
The property in question
Hindustan Times reports that the property measures approximately 7,802 square feet and sits in Kapol Co-operative Housing Society. It is owned by Ajay Devgn and his mother, Veena Devgn.
The BMC’s K/West ward issued a notice under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act on September 10, 2026, over alleged unauthorised additions and alterations. The notice asked the owners to stop work immediately and produce permissions within 24 hours.
A speaking order dated October 6 rejected the owners’ reply, saying no documents had been submitted to establish the legality of the construction or show permission from the competent authority. The work was treated as unauthorised and its removal was directed.
What changed after the BMC action
The team’s statement separates the actor’s personal life from an investment property that is rented out. It does not deny that work was questioned; instead it points to compliance after the fact, with permissions applied for and alterations completed.
For Bollywood watchers, the episode is a reminder that a star-owned property often makes news because of the name on the papers, not because of the scale of the structure. The municipal process matters once a notice is issued: the owner gets a short window to respond, and if the reply does not establish permission, the BMC can treat the work as unauthorised and order removal.
- Property: Around 7,802 sq ft in Kapol Co-operative Housing Society, Juhu.
- Ownership: Ajay Devgn and his mother Veena Devgn.
- BMC action: Notice on Sept 10, 2026; speaking order on Oct 6, 2026.
- Team’s stand: It is a rented-out property, not his residence; required changes are done.
Ajay Devgn’s screen run continues
These property headlines arrive during a strong box-office phase for the actor. Drishyam 3 has collected ₹336.55 crore in India net collections within 16 days and crossed ₹500 crore in worldwide gross, according to the report. It has also recorded the biggest opening of the actor’s career.
His upcoming slate includes Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5, Ranger directed by Jagan Shakti and produced with Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg, Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit, with Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist, and Chauhaan directed by Neeraj Yadav.
