One of South India’s most-talked-about pairings has just moved from whisper to a firm calendar entry. Composer Anirudh Ravichander and Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran are set to marry in November, with a wedding reception now named for Chennai on November 21.
The detail did not come from the couple or from a film industry insider. It came from the official X handle of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on October 16. The account shared photos and videos of a meeting with Kavya’s parents, Sun Group Chairman Kalanithi Maran and Kavery Maran, at the Chief Minister’s Jubilee Hills residence.
The post itself is an unusual confirmation route. A state chief minister’s social account rarely doubles as a wedding bulletin, but the images made the invitation feel both official and personal.

The post said the Marans had come to invite him to the wedding reception of their daughter and Anirudh. It then named the city and date: Chennai on November 21.
Separately, a report in The Times of India has claimed the wedding itself will take place in Greece on November 11. That detail is still unconfirmed by the couple or their families.
From Reddit speculation to a family nod
The relationship chatter began in June 2025, when a Reddit post claimed the two were dating and that their families were planning a wedding. Anirudh dismissed it at the time, telling fans to “chill out” and stop spreading rumours.
The tone changed in June this year, when Anirudh’s uncle, actor Y Gee Mahendra, told a Tamil channel that a wedding was “a sure thing” and offered his congratulations. That turned a social-media whisper into something closer to a family confirmation.

Anirudh is one of India’s busiest composers. His 2026 releases alone include Love Insurance Kompany, Jana Nayagan, DC, The Paradise and Jailer 2, with Shah Rukh Khan’s King, Rajinikanth’s Dharman and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 3 still to come.
