Yami Gautam visits Ayodhya ahead of Nayyi Navelli release

Yami Gautam Dhar made a quiet pre-release pilgrimage to Ayodhya on October 15, visiting the Ram Mandir a day before her film Nayyi Navelli arrives in theatres on October 16. Dressed in a yellow saree, the actor offered prayers and framed the stop as a moment of gratitude before the release.

A temple stop timed to Dussehra

The timing does more than add a graceful visual. Nayyi Navelli opens just ahead of Dussehra, and the film’s story celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Ayodhya, regarded as the birthplace of Lord Ram, makes the setting especially resonant. The Ram Mandir was inaugurated on January 22, 2024.

What Nayyi Navelli promises

The film blends family drama, fantasy, humour and action. Yami plays Mohini, a newly married woman who enters the Awasthi household as a daughter-in-law. What starts as a story about settling into a new home gradually takes a different turn, with questions surfacing about her character and the secrets surrounding her.

Why the moment lands with fans

For celebrity-watchers, a pre-release temple visit is a familiar Bollywood beat: it offers a clear occasion, a striking traditional look and a festival hook. Yami’s yellow saree and the temple backdrop give a softer, auspicious frame before the film’s commercial push. The Ayodhya stop also connects the film’s theme to the calendar, making it easier for audiences to see Nayyi Navelli as a festive-season option.

The film arrives with a strong off-screen team: Balaji Mohan directs, while Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma produce. GV Prakash Kumar handles the music. For fans tracking Yami’s choices, Nayyi Navelli puts her at the centre of a story that moves from domestic comedy into mystery, an unusual blend that could stand out in the festive calendar.
