Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam The Conclusion is still pulling in audiences, but its second Sunday added a wrinkle to what looked like a straightforward march toward the Rs 400 crore nett mark in India.
The film collected an estimated Rs 22 crore nett on Sunday, a 15% dip from Saturday. That took its second weekend to Rs 61.50 crore nett and its India total to Rs 299 crore nett, just a shade away from the Rs 300 crore milestone.
Overseas, the film has grossed USD 11.25 million, approximately Rs 108 crore, with USD 2.50 million of that coming from the second weekend. Put together, the worldwide gross now stands at roughly Rs 470 crore.
The numbers so far
- Sunday: Rs 22 crore nett, down 15% from Saturday
- Second weekend: Rs 61.50 crore nett
- India total: Rs 299 crore nett
- Overseas: USD 11.25 million (Rs 108 crore approx)
- Worldwide gross: Rs 470 crore approx
All figures are trade estimates, not final certified numbers.
Why Sunday dipped
Second weekends matter because they reveal how a film performs once the initial rush is done. The fall is not necessarily a sign that the film is losing steam. Trade tracking suggests two local factors are at work. Big metro centres often peak on Saturday, which means Sunday can look softer even when the film is healthy. At the same time, the start of Navratri pulled audiences away in markets such as Gujarat, where the festive period is a bigger draw than a movie ticket.
Even with that context, the drop was a little sharper than trade watchers would have liked. After Friday and Saturday, the path to Rs 400 crore nett in India had looked like a cruise. The Sunday number makes that target a closer call than it appeared 48 hours earlier.
What the road to Rs 600 crore looks like
Despite the dip, the worldwide trajectory is still strong. If the film’s overseas legs hold, a USD 15 million lifetime overseas remains on the table, and that would keep Rs 600 crore plus worldwide within reach.
For fans tracking the run, the next milestone is simple: watch the weekday holds. Strong Monday-to-Thursday collections will signal whether the film can regain momentum after the Navratri period and close in on the higher end of its range.
